I don't think I've ever written a Goodreads review before, but I just put this down and I am so disappointed that I can only deal with this by typing up a long, sad rant. this one is just purely a waste, 2 Personen fanden diese Informationen hilfreich, Rezension aus Deutschland vom 24. Another book by this author which was lacking any finesse or focused characters. I can roll with that. I wanted to punch her in the face. I could empathize with Andy and wonder 'if I were in her shoes, could I do it? She essentially gets revenge on Miranda and those who thought she couldn't cut it in the f. Revenge in this sense refers to Andy herself in my opinion. I decided to read Revenge because the thought of a more mature, savy Andy dealing with Miranda sounded like fun. Goodreads helps you keep track of books you want to read. However, it was really hard for me to get interested in the storyline and it took me several tries (and the Internet going down in my house so I had no other interesting things to do at home at night) to finally read the whole thing. We still have a few of the old characters such as Emily and of course, Miranda. Having quit this job so coveted in the world of fashion yet which job she could not keep due to her … The storyline was horribly off course and the direction Weisberger chose to take these characters were completely displaced. I just finished this book and even though I haven't written a review before this book compelled me to do so. As a long time Devil Wears Prada fan, I’ve been excited about this sequel since I first heard it existed. Instead we're subjected to listening to the protagonist Andie whine about anything and everything even while we're informed that she's getting married to Mr. Max and Emily end up behaving exactly as you expect they will, and the ending is so predictable I could have cried. Title: Revenge Wears Prada: The Devil Returns Author: Lauren Weisberger # of pages: 400. She leapt off the page with every barb, every snide remark. Note to authors...not every good romance has to have the heroine with a baby. Now they get to call all the shots: Andy writes and travels to her heart’s content; Emily plans parties and secures advertising like a seasoned pro. Probably not as many as 10, but no real problem here. After viewing product detail pages, look here to find an easy way to navigate back to pages you are interested in. We all know people like that. She essentially gets revenge on Miranda and those who thought she couldn't cut it in the fashion industry and she has finally made something of herself on her own merits. Skip this one. Nothing is resolved. Ebenso wie andere Bücher von Lauren Weisberger ganz mein Geschmack! You really shouldn't write a book unless you have a story to tell. Ich habe schon ewig kein so schlechtes Buch mehr gelesen. If you haven't read this book for your sake don't. 11 Personen fanden diese Informationen hilfreich, 1.594 globale Bewertungen | 1.388 globale Rezensionen, Rezension aus Deutschland vom 23. It was back to 10 years ago with Andy being a timid yes-girl. But she doesn't even appear until about half-way through the book, and even then she's a minor character at best. The title is completely misleading, as I never read anything about Miranda Priestly getting revenge or the girls getting revenge on Miranda (correct me of I'm wrong). She’s the co-founder and editor in chief of a high end bridal magazine, about to get … The Family Favorite, and moved to Allentown, Pennsylvania, at age eleven. It also analyzes reviews to verify trustworthiness. But now "revenge" wears Prada? by Simon Schuster. And in their "scenes" together, the author never even made it possible to go another way. Andy is a completely different character from Devil Wears Prada. First thing Tuesday morning, I jumped out of bed and grabbed my Kindle, ready to begin my day with breakfast, Andy, Emily and Miranda. I read the entire thing just so I could confirm that there are no worthwhile parts in all 391 pages. I've just finished it and I am so disappointed. Pardon my French, but you think I give a shit about the flowers?”. She's a completely different character than in DWP, and is now quite boring and weak, and never funny. But no, that's not the case. The narrative just kind of stumbles around hopelessly between little vignettes she thought would be glamourous or dramatic. No one understands me. There were some opportunities to develop the story further, such as Andy's relationship with her mother in law. Really disappointing!!!! The most frustrating part was how upset by her husband's omission about his bachelor party (would she really divorce him over that?) The title makes absolutely no sense. What the hell was this? However, ten years on, Andy has moved on and is doing well. I felt like Andy made everything difficult for all the people around her. Andy's motivations and inability to speak up for herself or make a goddamned decision drove me to DISTRACTION. Not so with this book, I HATED Andy. Richly developed characters containing truly entertaining and pleasurable details and personas. And now, 10 years later, Andy is at a much different/better place in her life and is actually able to go toe-to-toe with Miranda. A total disappointment ałl around. The title makes absolutely no sense. [I didn't like the way there was so much exposition and filling in where everyone's been for the past ten years.
