He lives again (with no explanation on how he survived) in another venture set on American soil in a college town ten years after his last stalk. Is she drawn to the tana leaves, the hypnotic prayers of the high priest, or Kharis' presence itself? It was still a fun way to spend an hour, watching this 70-something year old film, but it didn’t capture my imagination quite the same way. On a scale of 1 to 10, I give “The Mummy’s Ghost” a 6. This film series does not include Universal's and Karloff's The Mummy (1932). In Curse, Chaney seemed too constrictive. The story of “The Mummy’s Ghost” is nothing groundbreaking, as a princess falls in love with a commoner, and the pair end up cursed to eternally search for each other. That sideways shuffle got to me as well. Additionally, Lon Chaney desperately tries to breathe a little life into his character, particularly at the end when he obviously objects to Carradine's plan for the young lady.
